Are you CONTENT??

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  Hebrews 13:5

I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life
Ecclesiastes 3:12

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Philippians 4:11

A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
Psalms 37:16

Are you a Christian who is FAITHFUL in the good times and the Bad??

If God took away all the things we as modern day Christians
tend to expect as normal blessings..

What if we no longer lived in a nation who lived for GOD?

What if we lived in a nation that persecuted Christians? (Iraq?)

Do you truly believe that You would still live for Jesus Christ?

I guess I am wondering this morning how much do we REALLY love Jesus?

  • So often we can't speak up for him to simply tell our testimony to family member and people we talk to on a daily basis.. How can we do that in times of real trials if we can't do it now in times of safety and security?

  • For most of us there is no one we know who is going to die for the name of Jesus.. Unless possibly a missionary who passed through our church at some point.. And even then.. HOW OFTEN DO WE PRAY FOR THEM.. And I don't just mean a passing mention of them as you race through a list of names.. God bless x, God bless y, God bless z.. Type prayers..

  •   Do you understand that even the if we are speaking about Missionaries to a relatively safe place ... Lets give an example Like Albania.. It's a European nation.. Not much chance of them being murdered in their sleep for the name of Christ.. But what about the fact that in a 24 hour time frame they have access to only 5-6 hours of hot water in any given day.. Try being away from home during the first 2 hours of your hot water allotment and having to try to decide between baths for all your children and laundry or house cleaning like mopping your floor etc. Shoot half the Christians I know have a canary if they can't get their Starbucks/Tim Horton's in less than 5 minutes through the drive through.. Or if they have to wait in line too long.. Or if they legitimately got a ticket for driving to fast.. Yet here we expect others to do the mission of bringing people to Christ when we are so easily irritated over minor trivialities in our society.

For more information of some of these Christians that we need to be praying for..

Top 50 countries - Christian persecution:
And fear not. I am not pointing the finger at you.. I am standing here in the need of God to change my heart too!

I don't know.. I guess I am here this morning to urge you to look around and see the apathy and lack of real zeal in our nation.. And I implore you to Ratchet up the fire!

If not by going anywhere.. The very least we can do is get a REAL prayer life!

Are YOU REALL on fire for the Lord?

Would you consider yourself REALLY on fire for the Lord?

Or can you look back and see where you once were and now have gotten to busy or complacent in your walk? This isn't one of those .. off the cuff answers . give it some thought .. you don't have to even answer but ladies we need to ask ourselves and face what God shows us.. and then decide what we are going to do about it.

It is called 'delighting' in the Lord. It means that you enjoy studying His Word, you WANT to do what His word says and you enjoy spending time with the Lord through prayer. Some people get 'on fire for the Lord' This usually occurs in a brand new christian when they first accept Christ and they are 'over' exuberant. They go around talking about God every single minute.

This is why God had problems with one of the 7 churches in Revelations..

Revelation 2:4

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

SO my question to you today.. Have you left your first love??

And if so.. How do you get "HOT" again?

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."

(Psalm 51:17)

Concentrate upon the sacrifice Christ made for us. Then think about how much love and care it would take to be willing to undergo and endure such things as Christ did.

Then I would suggest that you also think about the love and care God has for us, to allow us to do what was done to his son and to also allow us to be the ways we are to one another. Lastly, think about how wise God is.

Consider the wisdom in what he tells us to do and not do. Look around and see the consequences of our not following Gods word. If you do these things, you will find that you become more and more impressed with God and your want to worship him pleasingly will increase.

Beseeching God.. How important is it in your life?

This is an important part of our spiritual walk so I hope and pray that we all give it some careful consideration.

I have been reading in my Bible in devotion time and considering the word BESEECH .. and it has made me consider just how fervently (beseech) I (WE) seek God's help in areas? Especially when it comes to a lost soul. When is the last time we were so burdened about a loved one or someone we know of that is lost that it brought us to tears in prayer and we BEGGED God to move in their lives?

On this same note .. how saddened are we when we have to go to God and yet ask AGAIN for forgiveness ... or when was the last time we just praised him with joyful tears???
Oh ladies do you remember the day you were Saved? Do you consider the Hell you and I both deserve?

You've Got Mail!

How does your "letter" read? II Cor. 3:2 You’ve Got Mail!!
I love getting letters by mail, don’t you? I always make a cup of Tea before I sit and read a letter. Some of our sweetest memories we have as a family are of my husband and sons racing to see who got the mail in first.
As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25
God’s Word tell us that we are letters…and others are reading it.
Inasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the Epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3
What is an Epistle? Biblical speaking, it is a letter to a church or churches, and contain…. Instruction, blessing, warning, admonition and exhortation.
As a Christian, you are a living epistle of Christ.
If a ‘A picture is worth a thousand words,’ How much more true is it that how we live before others has a lot to say about what kind of people we truly are. As epistles or letters of Christ, our goal should be to live in such a way that we would bring glory to God.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Everyday, you are writing a letter to others by the way you act, think, talk, walk, etc…known and read of all men. 2 Corinthians 3:2.
How does your letter read? Does your letter bring joy and comfort to others? Does it bring Glory to God?

Do you have charicter?

Lets speak about CHARACTER.

If you lie today.. simply because it is Aprils Fools what does that tell people about your integrity?

At least to me it ranks right up there with lying to your children at Christmas, Easter and tooth fairy time.. It says to me that your knowledge of what is true doesn't always mean you will do what is right.

As someone who is trying to grow good Character in a world that has frankly dismissed character as a needless frippery.. I want you to think about it.. Don't your kids see that, doesn't your co-workers notice.. Do you really think that people don't care that from time to time your word means NOTHING?!

So go ahead, April Fools, Christmas, and ANY OTHER TIME.. Be a lier.. You will see that Integrity isn't something you can turn on and off like a light switch and have it mean anything at all!
