I won't lie.. If this truely doesn't change the way you think.. NOTHING will!

Halloween isn't "Harmless fun!"

I don't think after watching this video series.. anyone can just claim that Halloween is currently harmless... Nor was it ever!

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord,
and the cup of devils:
ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table,
and of the table of devils.
1 Corinthians 10:21 KJV

Regardless of the version you use..
Regardless of the rationalizations you have...
God is not stupid!
God has told us what he expects of us.. and If we will not comply.. Then we will suffer the consequences of our choices..

Sadly when it comes to Halloween we will reap the rewards of Children who really are the ones who will pay the price!

Bow down to God.. Don't think you can stand on your own

And Can It Be..
That I should Gain an interest in the savior's blood!

Why is it we have such a hard time trusting God?
Why is it we turn to ourselves when the going gets tough?

We know that everything we have ever done on our own has been nothing but sinful and hurting others..

Why is it we still want to rely on our own ways..

1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5Trust in theLord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:1-10

Why do we think we can do things to bring peace, favor with God and Man, have direction to our path's and health...

Isn't it God alone who makes a man great?

Or have we American Christians forgotten that it isn't us who pull ourselves up by our own boot straps and that we can't bring ourselves into a place of Greatness.

It is God who makes kings and nations rise and fall..
How much more our own lives?

We all.. Myself included have become too big for our proverbial britches!

How to read your bible..

DSC_0037
The Bible is meant to be read
Daily
In small or large doses..

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

KEY WORDS HERE **Let it**
Meaning you can stop the word of God from dwelling in you richly.

Proverbs 4:20-22

Remember it tells you that you have to attend to the words... Littarally.. ATTEND the reading of it..
Incline your ear to his sayings(what are sayings but words..?)
And they will bring LIFE... HEALTH and will KEEP YOUR HEART!

*Spending time in Gods word will bring LIFE, HEALTH AND PEACE OF HEART... (why wouldn't you do that??)
*God's word is POWERFUL... And can literally discern your thoughts..And if that isn't enough for you..
*God's word gives you GRACE! Teaches you how to live with music and love and peace and joy and HOPE in your heart...

Seriously.. What better offer have you got??
Satan isn't offering that?
Mohammad isn't offering that..
Confucius isn't offering that...
Buddha isn't offering that...
ONLY JESUS CHRIST OFFERS THAT! And then Heaven afterwards!

When to read your bible...

Like I said yesterday..

Morning is the best time for bible reading..
Now later on if you want to do bible study in addition..

That is totally fine..

Why do I advocate for reading your bible early in the day..?

When I read the bible... God talks to me..
When I Study..... I prepare myself to talk to others..

Reasons to read your bible...

Today we are going to look at WHY should you read your bible..

I know, I know you think you know the answers to this... And maybe you do..

But I know I have always found reviewing my Motivations... Educational..

So here are my top 5 reasons to read your bible...

1) First thing it does is it elevates your thinking.
What does that mean??
Well instead of starting your day (Yes I believe starting your day with bible is very important..)
But if you open your mind first thing in the morning and you add into it GOD'S thoughts, God's ways, Gods directions for your life.. It makes you more mindful of your direction for the day..

2)Second thing reading your bible does is it gives you PEACE...
Starting your day with God's mind and God's direction starts you off with peace. It gives you direction. It makes you have diving guidance..
How many times have you heard people saying..
"I just wish there was an instruction Manuel"

There is.. It is called The Bible!

3) When times are hard... And they so often are!!
God's word gives us a Refuge..
A place to run to .. A place to find solace.. and HOPE!

Jesus Saves

4) When you read your bible frequently.. It starts to change you... FOR THE BETTER...
Some would get all freaked out by this statement..
But it's true..
God's word when you read it gets into your heart and mind.. And it tells you it won't come back void..

It's full desire is to bring you into a closer relationship with the ALMIGHTY GOD.
And in all honesty... WHO can't use some personal improvements?

Is there anyone who has such perfect character or such a sterling personality that they need no help??

5) God is God.. So often in our world we allow men to make and determine what is right and wrong..
Let God be right..
Scarcely does a day go by when we don't see the things of MAN...

I will be honest.. I think it really is a dying art.. Learning and Leaning On GOD!

Lessons from the word of God!

So today were going to continue our lessons from
1 Samuel 3:1-21

The Word of the Lord was Precious in those days

I guess my question is what does that mean..?

Is God's word precocious even in our days.

**When was the last time that your heart and soul YEARNED for God's word**

**When was the last time you truly read your bible to learn something new?**

Considering there have been hundreds of people martyred recently for their faith due to ISIS..
Can we really afford to be so glib?

1And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
2And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
3And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
4That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
5And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
6And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
7Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.

8And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.
9Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
11And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
12In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
13For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
14And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
15And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the Lord. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
16Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.
17And he said, What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
18And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.
19And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
20And all Israel from Dan even to Beer–sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.
21And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.

Just a side note.. The verse I highlighted in red.. Says that Samuel had not known God yet..
Even though he had served in the temple for years already.

Just goes to show that you can be about God's work and not "know God" or have that relationship with him. It will do no one any long term good if your so busy about doing the good things of God if you aren't actively working on and perfecting a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Lord revealed himself to Samuel..

Isn't that just like The Lord that he would use the WORD of God to show who and what he is..

When was the last time you were involved for more than 5 minutes with your bible?
I won't lie.. before taking the break I took to get some perspective.. I gotta tell you I hadn't spent much time in my bible. And I sure hadn't been doing much changing in my own life..
